Design and Technology

“Creatively designing and making products”

Introduction

At St Mary’s, we inspire young designers and makers, helping them to develop creativity, practical skills and confidence to bring their ideas to life.

Our Design and Technology curriculum is carefully structured so that knowledge, understanding and technical skills build progressively from EYFS through to the end of KS2. Children engage in hands-on projects that encourage them to plan, design, make and evaluate, learning how to solve problems and think critically along the way.
Rooted in our values, DT at St Mary’s allows pupils to explore materials, tools and techniques safely and creatively, fostering resilience, innovation and a sense of pride in their achievements. Through their designs and creations, our children learn how imagination and practical skill can shape the world around them.
